Hello! Thank you for joining our tour today. Missouri State is a welcoming place that is home to over 24,000 Bears. Our campus is located in Springfield, Missouri, a city known for colleges and being the third largest city in Missouri. It won't take long for you to meet new friends and start making your Missouri Statement.

Our first stop is the North Mall, an outdoor plaza that features the Bear statue, the bookstore and Magers Health and Wellness Center. This open grassy area is one of our students' favorite places to gather for events like Bear Bash, carnivals, concerts and more.

Plaster Student Union

Welcome to Plaster Student Union. As one of the social hubs on campus, the PSU is a place where you can meet up with friends, join one of 375+ student organizations, grab food at one of several national vendors, relax in a lounge or hang out in the first-floor gaming center.

The PSU also includes resources such as a multicultural resource center, a place to sign up for volunteer work and the education abroad office.

You can live in our residence halls no matter your year in college. Your options include community and suite-style spaces.

Campus Recreation Center

Foster Recreation Center is a campus landmark you can't miss. This state-of-the-art facility features an indoor jogging track, free weights area, cardio machines, rock climbing walls, studio space and multi-purpose activity courts. Plus, it includes a large aquatics area with a spa and sauna. This is the place to work out and make sure you feel great before or after your classes.

Plaster Stadium

Get ready to cheer on the Football Bears! Not only does our Division I team play at Plaster Stadium, but you can get to know fellow students during special events on the field. Playfair is always a highlight of Welcome Weekend for our incoming class of students. This place also features BearFest Village, a tailgating event right outside the stadium on campus. You'll find student and alumni organizations, local businesses that provide food, games and entertainment you'll never forget.

Great Southern Bank Arena

If you're a fan of sports, concerts and shows, you'll love Great Southern Bank Arena. It's home to the Bears and Lady Bears basketball teams. The arena has also hosted Journey, Chris Stapleton, KISS, For King and Country, Lady A and more. Plus, this is where you'll celebrate your graduation, meaning some of your best memories as a Bear will live in this arena.

Meyer Library

Meyer Library will be a key part of your success as a Bear. This place is so much more than books. Key resources include an open-access computer lab with printing services. It's open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Meyer also houses the Center for Learning and Writing (the Bear CLAW), where you'll get tutoring help for your classes. Study rooms are available for you to reserve, too. Oh, and here's a fun fact: The Jane A. Meyer Carillon bell tower is attached, one of only two instruments of its kind in Missouri.

Quad

You're surrounded by tradition at the Historic Quad, which features some of the oldest buildings on campus. Carrington is an administration building, while Ellis and Hill houses music and education programs, respectively.

The next great math and computer science students learn at Cheek Hall. This building also has a large open-access computer lab, perfect for getting homework done or working on a group project.

Siceluff Hall is home to our English, writing and modern language majors.

Education and Psychology

Welcome to Hill Hall, the oldest academic building on campus. Hill is home to the College of Education and the psychology department.

While it's been around for more than 100 years, this place looks as good as new. Its most recent renovations include a student lounge, computer lab, additional study rooms and meeting spaces.

Health and Human Services

Students in our health and human services programs learn their trade while helping people right now. The O'Reilly Clinical Health Sciences Center houses the occupational therapy, physician assistant, nursing and anesthesiology programs. You can also work in the MSU Care Clinic where underserved people in the community can get the health care they need. When you're a student in one of these programs, you'll have access to simulation labs, group study spaces, and classroom technology you need to become the servant leader you want to be.

Business

We mean business at Missouri State! As a Biz Bear, you can choose from 27 undergraduate programs. Our business and accounting programs are among only 2% of business programs globally to hold dual AACSB accreditation. Not only can you count on receiving a high-quality education, but you will also have opportunities to network on campus. Plus, when David D. Glass Hall is your college home, you can access resources like a financial trading lab, an advisement center, and multiple study and group project spaces.

Natural and Applied Sciences

When you're a science student, you'll do more than listen to lectures. You'll get to experience what you're learning first-hand. That's what you'll find in our natural and applied sciences programs at Roy Blunt Hall. Whether you're in a lab for biology, chemistry, geology or physics, you'll access state-of-the-art tech in all disciplines.

Cooperative Engineering

Students can earn civil, electrical and mechanical engineering degrees from Missouri S&T at Missouri State. The Plaster Free Enterprise Center in downtown Springfield is this program's home. At the civil engineering labs, you'll learn how to make concrete and test the strength of concrete cylinders. This is a great program for students who want to make a difference. You can work directly with local companies to provide solutions for real problems in Springfield.

Performing Arts and Communication

John Goodman. Kyle Dean Massey. Kathleen Turner. These famous alumni were once theater students in our nationally recognized theater programs, which you'll find at Craig Hall.

The list of successful artists doesn't end there. You'll also join a tradition that features successful writers, journalists, communications and public relations professionals who once roamed these halls.

Right outside Craig, you'll find the John Goodman Ampitheatre where you can join productions throughout the year. Just like our alumni, you can be today's Missouri State student who blossoms into tomorrow's star.

Visual Art and Design

Most of our buildings are located on campus. But one that isn't is one of the most unique.

You can spot Brick City in downtown Springfield. This place features the department of art and design, which houses several programs including ceramics, digital arts, graphic design and photography. It also features a cooperative program with the UMKC School of Pharmacy.

Humanities and Social Sciences

Strong Hall is home to humanities and social sciences programs like criminology, history, anthropology, religious studies and more. It also houses KSMU Radio and Ozarks Public Television. If you want to get professional broadcasting experience as a student, this is the place to go.

The Citizen Scholar statue majestically stands outside this building on the John H. Keiser Plaza. The statue symbolizes Missouri State's public affairs mission. When you're a Bear, you'll learn how to learn and lead with integrity.

Agriculture

The next time you enjoy a meal, thank a person who works in agriculture. We're contributing to the future of farming and more at the Darr Agricultural Center, a 125-acre off-campus green space that serves as a research and demonstration facility. If you become an agriculture student, you'll get hands-on experience in livestock management, equine studies, horticulture, agronomy, animal science, hospitality leadership and wildlife conservation and management.
