The School of Medicine this year extended its footprint into Research Triangle Park — and it’s a big footprint. Duke Research and Discovery@RTP is a new facility that offers Duke biomedical scientists 273,000 square feet and five levels of wet labs, advanced equipment, a biorepository, and clinical trial space, all focused on research leading to the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases like COVID-19, influenza, and HIV. “It’s not just what we’re bringing here. It’s what we plan to create once we’re here.” — Thomas Denny, MSc, MPhil, associate dean for Duke RTP Administration. To learn more about Research and Discovery @RTP, visit medschool.duke.edu/DRD-RTP
