KENW-TV 3 first aired September 1974. Today broadcast students in the Communication Department are still producing local programs and student-run newscasts using industry-standard equipment beginning in their freshman year. The Communication Department offers students opportunities to produce an online magazine, *Houndbytes*, and newspaper, The Chase in majors from journalism, broadcast production, broadcast journalism and public relations
