“Make the most of every experience and keep doing what you love!” 🎓 Timothy Poisson ‘92 📚 Business Administration 💼 Higher Ed Marketing Professional & Artist ✍️ Pen Name: Tim Fish ‼️ Ask me anything in the comments ‼️ Balancing two careers isn’t easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. As a business administration graduate, I’ve proudly built a career in higher ed marketing at places like @brownu and @dartmouthcollege. But art is my true passion. Under the pen name Tim Fish – I’ve also built a career as an artist, author, and playwright in the world of comics and graphic novels. It wasn’t always easy—My art career wasn’t where it needed to be when I turned 30. I had to push myself to get going, and battle through rejections. Persistence pays off! I’m always improving my skills and used my business and networking skills to work with companies like Marvel, Dark Horse, and ComiXology. My art shines a light on LGBTQ+ characters and stories. One of my latest projects, a webcomic called “Please Say It!” highlights the challenges a high school couple faced in the 80s, a time of growing LGBTQ+ activism. I created it to put more positivity into the world and show that, despite challenges, our community has always stood strong. My time at UNH played a big role in both my careers – from running a weekly comic strip in The New Hampshire to discovering a love for nonprofit work during an internship with The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. Recently, I was honored to be inducted into the UNH Diversity Hall of Fame for promoting diversity and inclusion through my work. It was fun coming back to campus and reconnecting with the past!
