VR Fest 2018’s award for Best VR Live Action Project for Television went to the interactive virtual brand experience we made for celebrity chef and creator, host, and producer of Extra Virgin on the Cooking Channel, Gabriele Corcos.
The experience was created to promote his new book, Super Tuscan: Heritage Recipes and Simple Pleasures from Our Kitchen to Your Table (Simon and Schuster). It’s the follow-up to 2014’s Extra Virgin, by Gabriele and his wife Debi Mazar. This book appeared on The New York Times Best Sellers list.
The interactive 360° features a virtual tour of The Tuscan Gun, Corcos’ casual storefront Italian cafe. In this case, it includes informative cooking videos and recipes. Furthermore, this experience is viewable on desktop, mobile, and VR.
In its fourth year, VR Fest is an annual virtual reality film and immersive technology show in Las Vegas. In addition to the awards show, the festival includes workshops and panel discussions.
The competition was tight. Especially considering, YouVisit was up against ten other nominees in the television category, including NBC, Conan O’Brien, SYFY, and AENetworks. Congrats to the YouVisit Studios team and everyone else involved in making this project a huge success!
