Mark was a grad student at Washington State University when he saw footage of bubbles flowing through fluids in micro-gravity. His thought: “That’s just too cool.” His fascination led to a job with NASA, an engineering Ph.D from Northwestern University and later his post as professor in PSU’s Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department. His research focuses on movement of fluids in space, and how that can be applied to everyday use – such as the low-gravity coffee cup he designed for astronauts. Get ready to hear about “weird stuff in space” and what that portends for our future.
