The entire season 11 cast of the 'RuPaul's Drag Race' reality TV show made a surprise visit to students in a class about the show. The seminar entitled "RuPaul's Drag Race and Its Impact" led by Joe E. Jeffreys during the Spring 2019 semester at Eugene Lang College, is about the decade long reality series and its impact on how LGBTQ and other cultures perceive female impersonation. This seminar interrogates the show and its representations of gender, race, body image, community and style as it places the show into larger contextual histories of drag performance from vaudeville and the 1980's East Village and ballroom scenes to Wigstock and Bushwig.
