In Dr. Jamie Hestekin’s lab, students are creating environmentally friendly biofuels from algae. Because of his work in this area, Dr. Hestekin was recently named an Innovator of the Year by Planet Forward. Through projects like this one, University of Arkansas students get to experience a hands-on approach to learning while making the world a better place.
