About me
Hello everyone! My name is Leigh Pleta and I'm a Junior here at UNCW. I'm majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in French and Psychology and am a member of the Honors College. I've been a part of the lovely Student Ambassadors for 1 year now, and have loved every minute of my involvement! I'm also a sister in Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, where I have been both the Education Director and the Vice President. I have been involved in various community service efforts throughout Wilmington and on campus, and I currently volunteer at the Good Shepherd homeless shelter and Paw's Place, a no-kill animal shelter in Southport. My freshman year I lived on-campus in the Honors House, and have since lived in the University Suites and the Seahawk Village. I hope to fulfill my lifelong dream next year and move to Wrightsville Beach! I am honored to have an on-campus job through Housing and Residence Life as a desk receptionist at Graham-Hewlett hall. In July, I will be studying abroad through UNCW in Marseille, France to finish my French minor, and am thrilled about the opportunity! I hope to get my Masters degree in Speech Pathology after leaving UNCW, and aspire to become a speech therapist in an elementary school someday. I'm so honored to be a Student Ambassador and represent this great university, and I never want to leave!
Interesting Facts
I'm a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and I've been on Dean's List every semester. I just got my first 4.0 last semester!
