I am an Investment Advisor Representative with Income & Estate Planning Partners, P.A. working and living in my hometown of Wilmington, DE. I met my wife Kristin at Widener and we have two beautiful daughters, Paige and Kendall. I chose Widener for a couple reasons. They offer great academic scholarship programs for students that have good high school GPAs and SAT scores. Also, I wanted a university that had smaller class sizes and a school that wasn't too far from home. Widener met this criteria plus a bonus – I met Kristin!
The experience and education at Widener has led to great career opportunities. The educational content of the program is phenomenal and the skills learned are being put to the test daily. The professors are intimate and genuinely want to see you do well. Since graduation day 9 years ago, my Finance degree at has helped me in my career by becoming a Financial Advisor and Investment Advisor Representative. It has opened doors and bonded relationships.
As new students chose Widener to pursue their higher education, I would recommend that they “Get out of their comfort zone.” Participate in as many activities and clubs as possible. Meet your peers, the facility and employees of the University. Volunteer to speak in front people, take on leadership roles, and give back to the community. These are the skills that are learned that will be just as valuable as the degree you'll earn. Widener’s personal touch with students allows them to help students with these skills and involvement. In today’s busy fast paced world, technology is a wonderful way to help us manage time. However, people choose their business relationships because they know how to communicate in person. They are personable, caring, liked, trustworthily and fun. Get out of your comfort zone and get involved!
I love hanging out with the family as much a possible especially weekend dinners at the parents or in-laws.
